About the statement

For SevaChildren Norway, it is important that you feel safe when you are in contact with us. We follow Norwegian laws for privacy and the EU Privacy Regulation (GDPR) - which means that we respect your integrity and your right to have control over your personal information.

Our guiding principles are simple; we are open about what information we have about you and why, and we protect your information in the best possible way.

The privacy statement describes SevaChildren Norway's handling of personal information in detail and indicates the contact person in the organization for questions related to privacy. SevaChildren Norway is responsible for processing in the manner described in this document, and we are responsible for ensuring that the processing takes place in accordance with current regulations.

The statement applies to you who are in contact with us as a sponsor / donor.

 

  1. RESPONSIBLE FOR HANDLING 

Lars Johan Johnsen is, on behalf of SevaChildren Norway, responsible for processing the personal data of the organization.

 

  1. COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

SevaChildren Norway collects and stores personal information about you:

  • When you register as a sponsor / donor, when you give gifts via our website
  • When you fill out a form requesting personal information on our website
  • When you sign up for the SevaChildren Norway newsletter
  • When visiting our website, provided that you have approved our cookies (read more about cookies in point 7).

SevaChildren Norway mainly collects personal information directly from you. We do not collect more information than is necessary to carry out the purpose of collecting personal information.

 

  1. WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION WE STORE AND HOW LONG DO WE STORE THEM

SevaChildren Norway does not collect and store more information than is necessary in order to fulfill the purpose of the collection of the information.

You have the right to access the information SevaChildren Norway has registered about you and may request that information be updated, archived or deleted. SevaChildren Norway has established routines for deleting and archiving personal information.

3.1. News letter

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your e-mail address. Email addresses will be deleted when you unsubscribe from the newsletter.

All personal information mentioned in section 3.1 will be deleted if you contact SevaChildren Norway by e-mail or telephone. The exception is if we are required by Norwegian law to store the information.

 

  1. PURPOSE OF THE TREATMENT

SevaChildren Norway processes personal data for the purposes stated in this statement. Purpose is also stated when collecting information.

We collect information about our supporters in order to;

  • Confirm your identity
  • Receive and register gifts and other contributions to SevaChildren Norway
  • Use the ID number so that you get a tax deduction for your contribution if you wish
  • Register membership
  • Enable good service, such as handling your inquiries, correcting incorrect information or sending you information

 

We also process personal data in order to run our business, which means, among other things, that we process your personal data when you are in contact with us for various reasons. Examples of administration that involve the processing of personal data are:

  • When you contact us by e-mail, we handle personal information in order to keep in touch with you and respond to your inquiry.

 

  1. THE BASIS OF THE TREATMENT

We mainly process personal information about you in order to fulfill our obligation and agreement with you as a sponsor, donor, newsletter subscriber.

Some of the information about you may also be stored due to requirements in Norwegian law. An example of this is reporting your contribution to SevaChildren Norway to the tax authorities if you want a tax deduction for your contribution, or to fulfill our obligations in accordance with the Accounting Act.

In some cases, we also see a need to obtain consent from you. You can withdraw your consent at any time or refuse to receive information from us. Services that require active consent:

  • Digital communication

The processing of personal data takes place in accordance with current regulations and means that information about you is not stored longer than necessary and with regard to the purpose of the processing.

 

  1. ABOUT CHILDREN AND INFORMATION PROCESSING

SevaChildren Norway also processes personal data about children and this personal data is given special protection.

 

  1. WEB ANALYSIS, COOKIES AND STORAGE

We use cookies on our websites to give you the best possible user experience and service. In accordance with the Electronic Communications Act, we inform our visitors about the use of cookies.

 

  1. RIGHTS OF THE REGISTERED

We process your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Act and current regulations. You can demand access to your own personal information, as well as demand correction or deletion of information. You can also complain to the Data Inspectorate about processing that is in violation of the rules.

 

  1. INFORMATION SECURITY

SevaChildren Norway has established and documented routines and measures to ensure your personal information, the integrity of the information, the availability and confidentiality of it.

We secure your personal information by both physical and virtual access and access control, as well as by encrypting sensitive parts of the information.

 

  1. INFORMATION ABOUT OUR EMPLOYEES

SevaChildren Norway collects and processes the following personal information about the Board of Directors of SevaChildren Norway: name, gender, date of birth, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and we also store information that this has been presented in accordance with Norwegian law.

We have this information to;

  • Carry out necessary administration

Information we have received is stored in our personnel register until you end your relationship with SevaChildren Norway. Information we are obliged to retain under the Accounting Act will be stored for 5 years, in accordance with the requirements of the Act.
